Jon B. Miller is a graduate of San Diego State University (Phi Beta Kappa, with highest honors and distinction in his major, American Studies) and UCLA School of Law (J.D. May 1981). He was admitted to the California Bar on December 1, 1981, State Bar No. 099070. He spent the first year of his legal career as a law clerk to Presiding Justice Gerald Brown of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District.
Mr. Miller has tried and received verdicts on numerous cases over the years, and has argued matters before both state and federal appeals courts. He has significant experience in cases involving claims of breach of contract, intellectual property, business litigation, insurance coverage issues, professional negligence, franchise investment, personal injury, construction defect, employment, product liability, and contested probate matters.
Mr. Miller is uniquely qualified to handle litigation matters through trial and appeal. He has been awarded the highest possible peer review rating (AV - Preeminent) by Martindale-Hubbell and has been honored with the rank of Associate (requiring >20 jury trials) of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA)
Mr. Miller is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California, in addition to the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California, the Eighth, Ninth Circuit and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and United States Supreme Court. Mr. Miller is also a co-owner of his own rum brand, Deadhead Rum; which gives him a perspective of the challenges facing small business owners in an aggressive market.
